2. What Shipping Container Sizes Are Available?

The most common type of shipping container is the standard unit measuring 20 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 8 feet, 6 inches tall. The 40-foot standard container size is only different in length; its width and height being exactly the same.


But shipping containers come in shapes and sizes that differ from the standard. High-cube containers, for example, are a foot taller than standard units, while half-height containers are half as tall, half as long, and have an open top instead of doors on either end.
